Welcome to MAP, a Melbourne Anarchist Podcast. MAP will be relaunching soon.
“A fortnightly podcast of news and analysis, centered on Melbourne, offering an anarchist perspective”.
The aim is to produce a podcast of approximately twenty minutes, consisting of a five minute news update, a five minute shorter story, and a ten minute longer interview, discussion or essay. Assuming between 110 and 150 wpm (words per minute), podcast scripts need to be approximately 2000 to 3000 words.
The podcast is centered on “Melbourne” but is not strictly limited to the official geographic bounds of the city. I’m interested in the city not simply as a place where I happen to live, but also as a unit within the capitalist system. This podcast is interested in “the city” (and the spaces within it) as sites of production, struggle, contention, and control.
At present, this podcast is a one person affair. In future, I’d love to involve regular or rotating co-hosts, other presenters, segments and interviews. I’d also be keen to explore video content (well beyond my skill set), better audio production, and so on. If you are interested in collaborating, please get in touch.
“MAP, a Melbourne Anarchist Podcast, is recorded on the lands of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin nation. The land upon which we live and work is stolen land, the sovereignty of the Wurundjeri people was never ceded, and for that reason we must we must act in solidarity with their fight for justice, and that of all colonised peoples”.
